"Medical-grade massage therapy..."
to eliminate pain from orthopedic conditions with a focused approach and the tools for continued care.
What is Sports Massage Therapy and how can it help me?
Massage therapy, in the most general sense, is the therapeutic manipulation of soft tissue in the body with intent to promote a healing environment. A Sports Massage Therapist is specially trained and certified in the treatment of orthopedic conditions. Therefore, Orthopedic Massage is the manipulation of the soft tissue in the body as they pertain to orthopedic conditions with the disciplined intent to promote a healing environment.
What to expect:
Similar to a relaxation session, an initial health history is taken for medical safety. Further assessments - including a gait and postural analysis - are utilized in order to better understand the movements and (mis)alignments that could be contributing to your chief complaint.
During your treatment, manual therapy is applied to lengthen, shorten, activate, and disengage specific tissue through a variety of modalities - post-isometric relaxation (PIR), muscle energy techniques (METs), kinesiology taping, cupping therapy, deep tissue therapy and Active Release Techniques®.
The gentle, but effective, therapy known as "myofascial release" is, by far and large, the most valued approach to treatment during these orthopedic sessions.
